Morgan Francis won all six of her matches to capture first place in No. 1 singles on Saturday during the Great Bend High School Invitational at Veterans Park.
Francis’ clean sweep was the top performance on the day for Great Bend, which finished with 48 points to finish second behind first-place Ellinwood (57).
Francis used a powerful serve and steady ground strokes to coast in her matches, including a 3-0 mark against Western Athletic Conference foes Liberal, Dodge City and Garden City.
Kinzie Sinclair and Becca Brining continued to play strong for Great Bend, taking second place in No. 2 doubles with a 5-1 record, including triumphs over WAC foes (Liberal, Dodge City and Garden City).
Stephanie Langer finished in second place in No. 2 singles with a 4-2 mark, and Brianna Schartz and Jamie McVay secured second place with a 4-2 mark, including a tough tiebreaking loss to Garden City.
