McPHERSON — Great Bend High School finished fifth out of six teams at the McPherson varsity tennis tournament on Thursday.
“The team played well with four players playing in their first varsity matches,” GBHS head coach Shannon Schartz said. “They battled nerves, heat and the wind.
“Our two returning varsity players, sophomores Brianna (Schartz) and Jami (McVay) did especially well and dominated Valley Center in the third-place match, 7-2. I was happy that everyone won at least one match.”
