Heading into the final matches before the postseason, the Great Bend High School volleyball team is set to challenge Western Athletic Conference foes at the conference tournament in Liberal on Saturday.
Matches start at 10 a.m., with Great Bend having its initial matches on the second court against Dodge City.
Besides early-season matches with Garden City and Liberal, the Lady Panthers haven’t seen any of the other WAC opponents during a difficult season schedule.
Great Bend enters the conference tournament 15-15 overall.
After the WAC tourey, Great Bend dives into Class 5A sub-state action on Saturday, Oct. 20, in Newton, where the Lady Panthers will see WAC teams Liberal and Hays among others.
