HAYS — The Great Bend Middle School girls eighth-grade B basketball team started slow but rallied to beat Hays Middle School 17-10. Arely Reyes led the way with eight points The B team is 2-0.
The GBMS girls 8th grade A basketball team (2-2) fought hard, but came up short 32-25. Great Bend converted one free throw and Hays converted 13 of 26 free throws. The Panthers are winless on the road.
“Our post players really stepped up tonight and our defense is getting stronger,” said Great Bend coach Kyle Jeffrey. “We held Hays to nine field goals.
