Dodge City Comanche Middle School spoiled the home opener for the Great Bend Middle School 7th-grade boys basketball tyeam with a hard-fought 54-49 victory Jan. 11. The game featured several lead changes with the Panthers going hard to the basket.
Great Bend’s Braylon Council led the way with 11 points and Blaike Parsons added nine points, Mathew Moeder and Noah Jerke each made eight points.
The Panther B team rolled to an early lead and coasted past Dodge City Comanche 33-10. Kaden Esfeld led the B-team with seven points followed by Mathyas Montoya and Justin Ward with five apiece.
The teams are coached by Troy Stein and Jason Drouillard.
The 7th-grade boys (1-2) defeated Dodge City Middle School 48-17 Jan. 22. Leading scorers were Braden Vratil 11, Blaike Parsons 9 and Madison Regehr 8. The 7th-graders lost to Abilene Jan. 18.
The Panther B team (3-0) swept past Dodge City Middle School 35-12. Skyler McMullen scored points. The Panther B team defeated Abilene Jan. 18.
The 7th-graders play at Hays Middle School Thursday and Saturday.
