Great Bend has partial team competing today

A portion of the Great Bend High School track and field team is competing today on the second day of the Shocker Pre-State Challenge at Wichita State University’s Cessna Stadium.
Great Bend’s Jacy Quade, Chris Burley, Selam Ball, Hannah Middleton Chon Chavez and Matt Moyd are competing in the Elite Division. Moyd will be battling for crowns in the 110-meter high hurdles and 100 dash, as will Quade in the shot put and discus.
Burley will competes in the pole vault, as well as Selam Ball and Hannah Middleton in the girls’ division. Chavez will run in the 1,600.
In the Class 4-6A Divisions, Darion Yager willl be competing in the 100; Hannah Wondra, Cristian Garcia and Mauricio Uribe in the 400; Mariah Stein, Wondra, Chavez and Kole Stiner in the 800; Mary Willliams, Stiner and Stein in the 1,600; Kaitlynn Tuey, Williams, Chavez and Graham in the 3,200; Yager in the 300 intermediate hurdles; Burley, Uribe, Yager and Moyd in the 4x100 relay; Four will be picked from Anthony Valenzuela, Garcia, Ethan Henderson, Yager, Uribe and Burley for the boys 4x400 relay; Tuey, Williams, Wondra and Stein in the girls 4x800 relay; Chavez, Valenzuela, Stiner and Garcia in the boys 4x800 relay; Moyd and Valenzuela in the long jump; and Jayce Brack in the shot put and discus.

Surface: Joske SW all weather, 1/4-inch spikes only
Runways: Pole vault, high jump, javelin, long jump, and triple jump runways are Joske SW rubber. Shot Put and discus rings are concrete.
Time schedule: See attached sheet, this is only a guide, we maygo ahead of schedule if possible
Admission: Today before 4 p.m.: Adult $6, Children (ages 3-12) $3; After 4 p.m.: $3
