Great Bend, Larned earn home softball regionals

GBHS regional softball/baseball bracket (PDF)

Great Bend and Larned softball teams will both host the opening round of regional competition to kick off the post season.

The Panthers, who lead the WAC at 14-2 with two series remaining against TMP and Hutchinson, will host the class 5A-Division 2 softball regional on Tuesday, May 19. Teams competing will be Emporia, Wichita Heights, Great Bend and Salina Central.

Larned will be the site a Class 4A-Division 2 softball regional May 19. Teams competing will be Hoisington-Central Plains, Hays-Thomas More Prep, Larned and Nickerson. State champion Pratt defeated Larned 1-0 in the Class 4A regional final last year.

Class 5A Great Bend will be paired in two regionals comprised from Emporia, Great Bend, Maize South, Newton, Salina Central, Salina South, Valley Center and Wichita Heights.
