KINSLEY — The Central Plains High School girls’ basketball team made only one 3-pointer in the overtime win against Kinsley on Friday night.
It was the one it needed.
Jennifer Hitschmann, who led the Lady Oilers with a game-high 18 points, sank a 3-pointer with 1.2 seconds remaining to give her team the 55-54 edge on the road.
Sydney Rugan added 11 points, scoring all of her points in the fourth quarter and overtime period.
Alisen Habiger led the Lady Coyotes with 15 points.

ST. JOHN — Teresa Wade continues to be a dominating force heading into the postseason as she scores 31 points in St. John’s win over rival Macksville.
Wade was 7-for-7 from the free-throw line for the Tigers, who are ranked No. 1 in Class 1A Division-I in the latest Kansas Basketball Coaches Association poll.
Melissa Espino finished with seven points to lead the Lady Mustangs.

Jordin Greer scored all four of her points in the final period, and Mykela Riedl scored three of her five points in the fourth quarter.

BROOKVILLE — Emily Work scored 19 points to lead Ell-Saline past Ellinwood.
Lindsay Zink led the Lady Eagles with 14 points.
