Hoisington cross country team competes in Lyons

LYONS — The Hoisington High School boys’ cross country team took eighth place with 160 points at the Lyons Cross Country Classic on Tuesday.
Sterling took first place with 59.
Hoisington’s Kade Cook finished in 19th place 19 minutes, 49.99 seconds.
The Hoisington girls’ cross country team finished in ninth place with 194 points. Southeast of Saline finished in first place with 47.
Shannon Manka took 30th place as the top finisher for the Lady Cardinals, finishing with a time of 19:44.72.
Katy Willis took 35th place 21:08.64.
Hoisington travels to  Sterling on Thursday, Oct. 3.

• Otis-Bison finishes 1-1 at home triangular
OTIS — The Otis-Bison volleyball squad beat Western Plains, but dropped its match to Victoria on Tuesday.
The Lady Cougars bested Western Plains 25-13, 25-22, but fell in a close match with Victoria 28-26, 25-22.

• Larned volleyball team hosts triangular
LARNED — The Larned High School volleyball team finished 0-2 at its home triangular on Tuesday.
The Lady Indians were beat by Bucklin 25-20, 22-25, 25-13 and Kiowa County 20-25, 25-21, 25-13.
Larned is back in action on Saturday in Kingman.
