Of the 16 girls to make an All-Mid-Central Activities Association volleyball team, only Hoisington High School junior Abi Rziha was unanimously selected.
A setter, Rziha, who was a Class 3A all-state honorable-mention selection for the second straight season, finished the season with 991 assists.
The Lady Cardinals were eliminated during pool play of the state tournament at the Bicentennial Center in Salina, finishing with a record of 32-10.
Hoisington senior Mykela Riedl and junior Ashley Lockwood were also first-team, along with Tabie Ochs of Larned. Sophia Hayes led Ellinwood’s five selections as the only Lady Eagles player on the first team.
Hayes had 316 kills, 302 digs and 20 blocks on the season.
The Lady Eagles finished the season with a 27-11 record, getting eliminated in a 2A sub-state championship match against Pratt-Skyline.
Ochs had 172 kills, 22 aces and 23 blocks for the Lady Indians, who finished with a 13-24 record.
Riedl had 667 digs and 77 aces as Hoisington’s libero, and Lockwood finished with 361 kills.
Jordan Moore and Abi Demel were named as honorable mention picks for the Lady Cardinals, and Kim Gobin, Mackenzie Harper and Roxie Foster gained the same honors for Larned, as did Delaney Beckwith, Lindsey Zink, Abby Watts and Devann Patten from Ellinwood.
