HOISINGTON — The Hoisington High School girls’ basketball team claimed a 50-23 Mid-Central Activities Association rout over Larned on Tuesday night to close out the regular season.
The Lady Cardinals (9-10) jumped ahead 14-3 after one quarter.
Hoisington was led by Jordin Greer with 17 points. Rylie Koester added 13 points.
Lady Indians (4-15) were led by Jessi Johnson with six points.
Moundridge 44,
Ellinwood 42
MOUNDRIDGE — A 14-2 rally in the fourth quarter gave Moundridge the edge.
Ellinwood led 40-30 heading into the final eight minutes.
Sophia Hayes led the Lady Eagles (12-8) with 17 points.
Kelsey Ward added 12 points for Ellinwood, which went 13-for-17 from the free-throw line collectively.
St. John 57, Otis-Bison 20
OTIS — St. John-Hudson allowed one point from Otis-Bison in the first eight minutes on its way to a rout.
Seniors Jamie Waters and Morgan Osborne led the Lady Tigers (18-2), who are ranked No. 3 in Class 1A Division-I in the latest Kansas Basketball Coaches Association poll, with 15 and 14 points, respectively.
Hannah Bannister led the Lady Cougars (4-15) with 10 points.
The game marks the end of the regular season for both teams.
Sub-state tournaments begin on February 25.
BOYS
Pretty Prairie 63, Stafford 52
STAFFORD — Stafford led 48-46 heading into the final quarter, but Pretty Prairie rallied in the fourth period for a victory.
The Trojans were led by Taylor Newell, who scored 22 points, including three 3-pointers.
Austin Ceniti added 11 points for Stafford.
