LINDSBORG — The Hoisington High School volleyball team rolled through a Smoky Valley triangular on Tuesday night, sweeping matches against the host Black Bears and Marion.
The Lady Cardinals shut down Marion, 25-3, 25-15, before taking care of Smoky Valley, 25-11, 25-13.
Hoisington opened its season on Saturday at a Hillsboro tournament, taking fourth place.
The Lady Cardinals went 3-2 in the tournament, shutting out Haven, Kingman and Sterling in best-of-three matches.
Pratt toppled Hoisington, sending the Lady Cardinals to the third-place match.
Hesston claimed third place, winning 25-14, 28-26.
Abbi Demel led in the back row with 68 digs. She also had 26 kills.
Ashley Lockwood had 56 digs and 27 kills.
Lexi Sanders had 19 kills and 50 digs, and Abi Rziha added nine kills, seven aces and 72 assists.

ELLINWOOD — Ellinwood High School split volleyball matches in its home opener on Tuesday night, beating Wichita Independent and falling to Hutchinson Trinity in a triangular.
The Lady Eagles bested Wichita Independent 25-6, 25-15.
Hutchinson Trinity pulled out 26-24 and 25-21 wins over Ellinwood.
