Lady Oilers crush Ness City, 64-25

NESS CITY — The Central Plains High School Lady Oilers wasted no time taking command of their game against Ness City.
Central Plains took a 36-7 lead into intermission and added to it in the second half to win 64-25.
Jennifer Hitschmann led the Lady Oilers (17-2) with 20 points. Freshman guard Reagan Phelan added 13 points.
Central Plains closes out the regular season on Friday night, hosting Kinsley.

Macksville 37,
Otis-Bison 32
MACKSVILLE — Macksville’s Tara Bunker scored 10 of her game-high 12 points in the second quarter to help her team pull ahead down the stretch.
Otis-Bison led 18-14 at halftime, but the Lady Mustangs (4-12) outscored the Lady Cougars 23-14 in the second half.
Otis-Bison (4-13) was led by Hannah Bannister, who finished with 11 points.
Macksville is on the road on Friday night, challenging St. John.
Otis-Bison travels to Solomon.

Hoisington 57,
TMP Marian 36
HOISINGTON — The Lady Cardinals made six of their first seven 3-pointers on their way to a Mid-Central Activities Association rout.
Jordin Greer finished with 23 points, including five 3s, to lead Hoisington (8-10).
Rylie Koester added 16 points, and Mykela Riedl scored 13.
The Lady Monarchs were led by Jenna Schuckman, who finished with 12 points.
Hoisington hosts Hutchinson Trinity on Friday.

St. John-Hudson 56,
Wichita-Word of Life 8
WICHITA — Word of Life did not have an inside presence, as St. John post player Teresa Christie finished with 24 points to lead her team.
Alexis Witt added 11 points for the Lady Tigers (15-2), and Jamie Waters finished with eight points
St. John hosts Macksville on Friday night.

Cunningham 48,
Stafford 21
STAFFORD — Cunningham took hold of the game early, leading 21-6 after eight minutes.
Stafford was led by Adriane Millershaski, who finished with six points.
The Lady Trojans travel to Attica on Friday.

Ellinwood 79, Larned 16
LARNED — Ellinwood exploded for 48 first-half points in the MCAA game.
Larned only managed one point each in the first and fourth quarters.
Sophie Hayes finished with a game-high 22 points for the Lady Eagles.
Rachel Doll added 16 points for Ellinwood (11-7).
The Lady Eagles host Ell-Saline next.
Tiara Diaz led Larned (3-13) with six points.
Larned travels to Ellsworth.

BOYS

Central Plains 52,
Ness City 38
NESS CITY — A massive 22-6 fourth quarter allowed Central Plains to rally.
Michael Ryan led the Oilers (10-8) with 13 points, including 9-for-11 from the free-throw line.
Konner Hickel hit four 3-pointers for 12 points in the game, and Braeden Crites added 12 of his own, including six in the final eight minutes.
Layne Bieberle scored 11 points for Central Plains.

St. John 66,
Wichita-Word of Life 52
WICHITA — It started the same as any other St. John game this season — with the Tigers leading after one quarter.
However, Word of Life was able to shut down St. John to lead 36-27 at intermission and never looked back, handing the Tigers their first loss of the season.
Dean Wade led St. John (17-1) with 16 points and eight rebounds.
Spencer Nusser scored 13 points for the Tigers, Zuriel Reyes added 11 and Ethan Long put in 10.

Cunningham 51,
Stafford 48
STAFFORD — Stafford led 38-37 heading into the final eight minutes, but couldn’t close out the game.
Ethan Johnson finished with a team-high 17 for the Trojans.
Tanner Newell added 13 points, and Austin Ceniti scored 11 for Stafford.

Macksville 72,
Otis-Bison 31
MACKSVILLE — Macksville had four players score in double figures in its rout, led by junior guard Tanner Tranbarger’s 16 points.
Mustangs post player Adolfo Ibarra finished with 14 points, while Jordan Welch added 11 points and Simon Miller scored 10.
Miller led Macksville (12-5) with seven rebounds.
Dylan Wissman, Hayden Maier and Tyler Maier each scored eight points to lead the Cougars (6-12).

Larned 72, Ellinwood 57
LARNED — Riding 20 points from senior Easton Palmer, Larned rolled to an MCAA win.
Indians post player Camryn Bryant added 17 points, as Larned (4-11) had 10 players score.
Kyle Blakeslee and Patrick Ringering led the Eagles (5-13) with 17 points apiece.
Kyle Jenks added 10 points.

Hoisington 69, TMP Marian 56
HOISINGTON — Cardinals big man Cody Stetler lit up the scoreboard with 30 points, leading his team to an MCAA victory.
Stetler completed the double-double with a team-leading 17 rebounds. He also had six blocks.
Jacob Warnken added 11 points for Hoisington (15-3).
