The Central Plains girls have not lost a game this season. In fact, no game has even been close. The Oilers have won their first 15 games of the season by an average margin of over 40 points. They average 70 points per game while holding opponents to just 28.
The dominance continued on Tuesday night as Central Plains (15-0, 4-0 CPL) rolled to a 62-34 win over Plainville (11-4, 6-2) at home.
The Oilers came out of the gate with tenacious defense, holding the Cardinals to single digits in each of the first two quarters.
Janae Ryan, Kylee Kasselman, and Cassidy Crites each put up eight points in the first quarter as the Oilers raced out to a 24-8 lead to end the first quarter.
The Oilers stretched their halftime lead to 42-15 behind eight second-quarter from Ryan.
Ryan finished with a team high 21 points, connecting on five three-pointers. Crites added 15. Kasselman added 10.
The Oilers carried their momentum into the second half. Kasselman scored a bucket in the opening minute followed by a three-point-play from Emily Ryan to stretch the lead to 47-15.
Janae Ryan connected on a three-pointer in the final seconds of the third quarter to give the Oilers a 60-26 lead.
The Cardinals outscored the Oilers 8-2 in the final quarter, led by buckets from Aubree and Maeson Dewey.
Aubree led the Cardinals with 20 points while Maeson finished with 10.
Central Plains improves to 16-0 on the season. They will face LaCrosse on Feb. 11 at home.
Plainville falls to 11-5.
