SALINA — The Great Bend High School girls’ golf team placed 10th at the Class 5A State Tournament on Monday.
“It was  a perfect day,” GBHS head coach Troy Stein said. “We had perfect weather. It was a good course, so basically, it was the opposite of regionals.
“The girls played pretty well.”
Michaela Cape and Allison Neeland each shot a 100 to lead the Lady Panthers.
They were 12 strokes out of the Top 20 medalists.
Hannah Perkins of Kapaun Mt. Carmel won the state tournament with a 75.
Hannah Mauler was just behind her teammates, carding a 104.
Taylor Mohr hit a 114, and Kacee Kasselman finished with 116 strokes.
“There were a couple of greens that gave them a little trouble,” Stein said of his team. “Michaela and Allison wanted to break 100, and they came close. Hannah  wanted to as well, and she got close.
“Kacee and Taylor wanted to do a little better than they did, and we shot a little over our team average. But overall, they girls shot well.”
