Late score gives Cards 24-21 win

HOISINGTON — The Hoisington High School football team was able to come back late in the game to beat Medicine Lodge on a 3-yard touchdown from Austin Stout on Friday night.
The TD came with three minutes, 14 seconds remaining in the game.
Hagen Hanzlick led the Cardinals with 118 rushing yards and two touchdowns. Hoisington combined for a total of 212 rushing yards.
Hoisington travels to Ellinwood for a Mid-Central Activities Association showdown on Friday night at 7.

Ellinwood 44, Larned 20
LARNED — Ellinwood entered the fourth quarter up 30-6, and was able to weather the Indians’ late comeback attempt to win.
Brady Keith led the Indians (0-2) with 72 rushing yards, rushing for a touchdown and throwing a TD pass to Brayden Smith.
Chad Wallace also scored for Larned.
Ellinwood (1-1) was led by Allen Templeton, who rushed for 109 yards and two touchdowns.
Patrick Ringering scored three touchdowns, rushing for 45 yards while raking in 68 receiving yards.
Ellinwood hosts Hoisington, and Larned travels to Hays to face Thomas More Prep-Marian on Friday night at 7.

Burrton 14, Stafford 6
STAFFORD — In spite of scoring six points to open the second half, closing the gap to 8-6, Stafford gave up one final touchdown in the fourth quarter in a defensive battle on Friday night.
Tristin Paulsen found the end zone for the Trojans (0-2), rushing for a team-leading 69 yards.
Stafford will host Central Christian (Hutchinson) on Friday night at 7.

St. John 58, Fowler 12
FOWLER — St. John held a comfortable 35-12 lead going into the locker rooms at halftime.
The Tigers kept the Goldbugs offense out of the end zone in the second half to win.
St. John hosts Cunningham on Friday night at 7.

Macksville 82, Word of Life 0
MACKSVILLE — Macksville scored 74 points in the first 12 minutes on its way to dismantling Word of Life (Wichita) on Friday night.
Simon Miller led the Mustangs (2-0) with 75 rushing yards and three touchdowns, while the team totaled 180 yards in total offense.
Macksville plays host to Fairfield on Friday night at 7.
