Mustangs qualify in nine events

 The Macksville High School track and field team qualified for nine events in the Class 1A state track meet at Cessna Stadium in Wichita this weekend.
Adam Oak and Tanner Tranbarger both qualified for the 110- and 300-meter hurdles.
Oak also qualified in the 200 dash with a time of 23.27 seconds.
Seth Filbert qualified for the 1,600 run, crossing the finish line at the regional meet at 4:42.45.
Derek Bevan will be competing in two events, the shot put and the discus. Bevan turned in a distance of 135 feet, eight inches in the discus and a distance of 41-10 1/3 in the shot put.
Dakota Allison qualified in the javelin, which a chuck of 158-8.
The Mustangs qualified a 4x400 relay team, which consists of Efrain Lopez, Andrew Wendland, Filbert and Oak. The team qualified with a time of 3:38.06.
Megan Wood is the lone girl to qualify for state from Macksville. She will be competing in the javelin after reaching a distance of 119-9 at a regional meet.

St. John
St. John’s boys will be represented by Kevin Norton and the 4x100 relay team.
Norton qualified for the 100 dash with a regional time of 11.19.
The 4x100 relay team finished with a time of 44.55. The team is made up of Pat Prescott, Gabe Olivier, Kinser Crissman and Norton.
The Lady Tigers qualified four individuals and a 4x800 relay team, which consists of Daniele Wendland, Jamie Waters, Tia Smith and Taylor Woodward.
The relay team finished with a time of 10:30.83 at a regional meet.
On top of running a leg of the 4x800, Wendland qualified in the 400 dash, turning in a time of 1:01.98 at a regional meet.
In the 3,200 run, Taylor Woodward of the Tigers qualified with a time of 12:57.37.
Haley Falk qualified in the long jump with a distance of 15-6 1/2.
Teresa Wade also qualified in a field events, reaching a distance of 37-6 in the shot put at a regional meet.


Quivira Heights
For the boys of Quivira Heights, only Skyler Turner qualified for the state meet.
Turner turned in a distance of 154-2 at a regional meet in the javelin.
The Lady Thunderbirds will be sending two relay teams —  the 4x400 and the 4x800.
The 4x400 relay team made up of Julee McAtee, Faith Orth, Brooke Burton and Lindsey Woodmansee raced to a time of 4:20.59.
The 4x800 relay turned in a time of 10:51.82 at a regional meet. McTee, Faith Orth, Miranda Burton and Woodmansee.

Stafford
Stafford qualified two boys for the state meet.
Dustin McClure, a sophomore, qualified for the state meet with a time of 2:04.68 at a regional meet in the 800 run.
Junior Chris Lowe will be competing in the pole vault after a regional height of 11-6.
 • Pawnee Heights
The Pawnee Heights Lady Tigers qualified one athlete for the Class 1A state track and field meet in Wichita this weekend.
Rachel Wasko will be competing in the discus after a throw of 98-7 in the regional meet.
