CLAFLIN — State-ranked Central Plains scored 10 first-half touchdowns to coast past the Kinsley Coyotes in a Central Prairie League football game. Alex Barton scored on a punt return, an interception and receiving from QB Devin Ryan. TB Alex Hickel rushed for 182 yards and scored three touchdowns. Jacob McAtee scored two rushing touchdowns.
Grant Heldstab scored on an interception return and Brett Thompson scored on a pass reception from Jerred Bieberle. The Oilers (4-0, 4-0 CPL) rushed for 248 yards. Central Plains opens Eight-Man 1 District play against Canton-Galva Sept. 30.
