CLAFLIN – Central Plains’ sophomore all-stater Emily Ryan made a stunning sophomore debut with 44 points and seven assists to spark the Oilers past Hoisington 88-23 in Friday’s non-league basketball game.
Ryan scored 32 first-half points for the Oilers’ 63-11 halftime lead. Ryan converted 17 of 21 field goals and five free throws. Avery Hurley contributed 13 points and Rylee Cunningham 10.
Hoisington’s Maleigha Schmidt scored seven points.

CLAFLIN – Alex Hickel scored 19 points and Brett Liebl scored 14 points as the Central Plains Oilers raced past Hoisington 68-25 in Friday’s non-league basketball game.
The Oilers led 26-10 after one quarter and 44-10 at halftime by shutting the Cardinals out in the second period. The Oilers converted eight 3-pointers.
Drew Nicholson and Avery Brewer led the Cardinals with five points apiece.
Central Plains plays Ell-Saline at the Lincoln Tournament Tuesday and Hoisington plays Kinsley Tuesday at Larned’s Gene Keady Classic.
