Coming off road losses last Friday night, Great Bend High School’s boys’ and girls’ basketball teams are on the road again tonight.
GBHS travels to Manhattan. The girls varsity game tips off at 6, followed by the boys at 7:30 or thereafter.
Great Bend’s girls are still looking for their first win after opening the season with four straight losses.
The Lady Panthers’ most recent setback was a narrow one, a 33-32 loss to Pratt, where the two teams battled down to the wire before the Lady Greenbacks, ranked No. 9 in the latest Kansas Basketball Coaches Association Class 4A rankings, emerged victorious.
Up next for the Lady Panthers is a Manhattan High girls team (1-0) ranked No. 7 in 6A.
Great Bend’s boys (1-3), beset by injuries, and  inexperience, have lost three straight games entering tonight’s game with the Indians (0-1).
The Panthers lost to Pratt, No. 9 ranked in 4A, 59-20 on Friday night in the Greenbacks’ season opener.
