OTIS-BISON BOYS 49, QUINTER 47
RANSOM – Otis-Bison’s newest hero is Clade Anderson who converted the game-winning field goal on an assist by Anton Foust for a 49-47 1A Ransom substate basketball victory.
The Cougars (12-10) led 46-45 when ninth-grader Jayce Kohls converted a 3-pointer. Quinter’s Luke Kasier converted a driving shot for a 47-46 lead.
But Foust fed Anderson for the game-winning field goal. Anderson scored 19 points and Foust added 10 points. Quinter’s Conner Havlas scored 21 points to average 31 ppg in the substate.
Otis-Bison has qualified for state basketball 10 times in school history.

QUINTER GIRLS 35, OTIS-BISON 29

RANSOM – Quinter converted five 3-pointers to beat Otis-Bison 35-29 to qualify for the 1A state basketball tournament at Dodge City.

Quinter’s Rebekah Kitch nailed her second 3-pointer for a 27-23 lead that was followed by Peyton Havlas’ basket for a 29-23 lead. Kitch scored 17 points for Quinter (17-5). Kitch sealed the victory with two free throws for a 34-29 lead.

Cora Anderson led the Cougars with 14 points and Maddie Wiltse added eight points. Otis-Bison (15-7) shot 28 percent on 14 of 49 field goals. The Cougars constantly worked the ball inside, but had a hard time getting fouls called. Quinter outscored the Cougars 8-1 from the free throw line.

Quinter took full advantage of the officials not calling fouls with an aggressive fullcourt defense.
