LIBERAL — The Great Bend High School boys’ bowling team set a new school record on its way to crushing Liberal and Holcomb on Tuesday.
The Panthers finished with a team series of 2,879, beating last year’s record of 2,777, which was set in the Class 5-1A state tournament.
The Lady Panthers also beat Liberal and Holcomb, finishing with a 2,053 series.
Dakota Conaway finished with the high series for the boys, rolling a 746.
Eric Ruiz, who finished two pins away from a perfect game at 298, was the No. 2 bowler, scoring a 740 series.
Jessica Sterba led the Lady Panthers with a 564 series.
Kelli Kirmer was the No. 2 bowler at 511 pins.
Great Bend is back in action on Saturday at the Maize Great Plains Invitational, starting at 8 a.m.
