INGALLS — Pawnee Heights rallied from a double-digit deficit to shock Ingalls 57-54 to clinch the top seed in the Ransom 1A basketball substate ahead of Otis-Bison. Rozel High School made the state boys basketball tournament 55 years ago in 1963.
Tigers Kade Scott (19), Dalton Hamby (13) and Kale McCoy (10) scored in doubles figures. The Tigers (11-9, 4-6) trailed 12-2 after one quarter, but rallied for the victory.

OTIS BISON BOYS 39, ELLINWOOD 35
ELLINWOOD — Otis-Bison escaped with a 39-35 Central Prairie League basketball victory on two free throws by Jayce Kohls. The Eagles’ Tyler Knop converted a 3-pointer for a 37-35 score, but ninth-grader Kohls preserved the victory with a steal.
Cougar Anton Foust scored 16 points, 11 in the second half. Kohls rescued the Cougars with 10 points and two 3-pointers to end the first half. Caleb Cheeley also converted a 3-pointer. The Cougars (10-9, 2-6 CPL) travel to St. John Tuesday.
Ellinwood (2-17, 1-6 CPL) played spectacular defense. Brandon Carr scored 12 points with two steals. David Hammeke contributed 10 points and two steals. Kody McFarren had six rebounds. Ellinwood plays at Central Plains Tuesday.

HAVEN — Hoisington’s Jocelyn Pedigo scored 12 points with eight rebounds in the Cardinals’ 53-40 Central Kansas League basketball loss to state-ranked Haven.
Iris Pedigo scored nine points with three assists for the Cardinals (7-12, 3-6 CKL). The Cardinals converted a season high 19 of 28 free throws. Hoisington plays at Pratt Tuesday.
