ST. JOHN — St. John High School celebrated coach Clint Kinnamon’s 400th career high school coaching victory and Cole Kinnamon topping the 1,000-point barrier in a 75-24 non-league basketball victory Tuesday.
Cole Kinnamon scored 22 points with seven assists and seven rebounds in a vintage performance. Chase Fisher added nine points. The Tigers (12-1, 3-0 CPL) will play Central Plains (9-4, 3-0 CPL) for first place in the Central Prairie League Friday.

Hoisington (6-7, 2-2 CKL) was led by Brenner Donovan with a career high 29 points. The Cardinals travel to Nickerson (6-7, 2-3 CKL) Friday.

Hoisington (8-6, 3-1 CKL) was paced by Emma Harmon with a career high 30 points. The Vikings (4-10, 1-3 CKL) trailed by nine points before forcing overtime at 41. The Vikings were outscored 5-0 in the extra period.

CLAFLIN — Central Plains’ Alex Barton scored 13 points and Brett Liebl and Alex Hickel added 10 apiece as the Oilers defeated Otis-Bison 52-41 for a share of first place in the Central Prairie League. Devin Ryan made six free throws in the fourth quarter.
The Oilers (9-4, 3-0 CPL) led 15-7 after one quarter and never lost control. Otis-Bison (11-4, 3-1 CPL) was led by Maitland Wiltse and Kade Urban with 14 points apiece.
