Tigers run over Stangs, 54-28

MACKSVILLE — The St. John High School football team rushed for 337 yards in its 54-28 win against Central Prairie League foe Macksville on Friday night.
The Tigers were led by Schuyler Brown, who rushed for 162 yards, including a 55-yard touchdown run.
St. John fullback Ethan Long rushed for 136 yards and three scores.
Tigers senior quarterback Spencer Nusser completed 10 of 13 passes for 87 yards and one score.
Macksville was held to 76 rushing yards, with junior quarterback Tanner Tranbarger leading with 49.
Tranbarger got it done other ways, completing 5 of 11 passes for 53 yards and three touchdowns. He also returned a kickoff for a 71-yard TD.
Billy Burnett led Mustangs receivers with 30 yards and two touchdowns.
St. John hosts Kinsley in on Friday.
Macksville plays host to South Barber in Week 5.

VICTORIA — Central Plains struck first, but Victoria recovered to win the CPL game.
Chris Woolf scored on a 1-yard dash to give the Oilers an 8-0 advantage, but the Knights scored 24 unanswered to lead 24-8 at halftime.
Woolf, who finished with 135 yards, scored from 20 yards out to close the gap to 24-16, but the Knights responded.
Central Plains quarterback Bryce Steiner scored on a 16-yard run in the fourth quarter. Steiner completed 5 of 17 passes for 104 yards, throwing two picks.
The Oilers host Canton-Galva on Friday.

PRATT — Dylan Wissman was at it again in Week 4, this time running over Pratt-Skyline for 164 yards.
Wissman also torched the Thunderbirds for six touchdowns in the rout, all coming in the first three quarters.
Defensively, Wissman and Justus Bartonek each registered a team-leading 15 tackles.
Kole Urban had eight tackles, recovered a fumble and returned an interception 10 yards for a score.
The Cougars host Dighton on Friday.

Sophomore Jeromy Bartz led the Indians defense with 12 tackles.
Ellis quarterback Blake Hudson rushed for a team-leading 142 yards and one touchdown.
Running back Gage Younger totaled 133 yards and one score on the ground.
Larned travels to Cimarron on Friday.

South Barber 54, Stafford 8
KIOWA — Stafford scored one touchdown before South Barber’s defense clamped down for the night.
The Trojans, who managed only 89 yards of total offense, were led by Tristin Paulsen with 43 rushing yards.
Ethan Johnson finished with 34 rushing yards, scoring the lone touchdown for Stafford.
The Trojans host Caldwell for Week 5.
