OTIS — A 25-8 first quarter gave St. John-Hudson High School’s boys’ basketball team an early advantage that they rode to a 74-35 victory over Otis-Bison on Tuesday night to close the regular season.
Getting a game-high 23 points in 15 minutes played from junior guard Zuriel Reyes boosted the Tigers, who are ranked No. 1 in Class 1A Division-I in the latest Kansas Basketball Coaches Association poll. He had four 3-pointers.
St. John’s Dean Wade, a 6-foot-7 sophomore, finished with 15 points and nine rebounds.
Dylan Wissman led the Cougars with 10 points, going 6-for-6 from the free-throw line.
Tyler Maier led Otis-Bison with seven rebounds. He finished with six points.

Moundridge 66,
Ellinwood 35
MOUNDRIDGE — Ellinwood could not get a foothold as Moundridge added to its lead throughout the game.
Patrick Ringering and Tanner Swank finished with a team-leading seven points for the Eagles.
Ellinwood finishes the regular season 5-15.

Macksville 71,
Hodgeman County 59
JETMORE — With 29 points from senior Adolfo Ibarra, Macksville overcame Hodgeman County.
The Mustangs (13-7) led 52-48 heading into the final quarter, but pulled away down the stretch.
Tanner Tranbarger added 16 points for Macksville and Jordan Welch scored 14.

Larned 66, Hoisington 47
HOISINGTON — With Hoisington’s 6-foot-8 senior, Cody Stetler, out with a foot injury, Larned was able to come away with a Mid-Central Activities Association win to finish the regular season.
Larned (6-14) was led by Brayden Smith, who scored 14 points.
Easton Palmer added 10 points for the Indians, going 4-for-5 from the free-throw line. They were 26-for-32 (81.2 percent) from the line as a team.
Anthony Broeder led the Cardinals (11-4) with a double-double, scoring 13 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. Ryan Becker added 12.

GIRLS
Hodgeman County 45, Macksville 43
JETMORE — Macksville’s fourth-quarter rally fell just shy as Hodgeman County held on.
Mindy Wood led the Lady Mustangs with 16 points, including eight in the final quarter that had them outscore Hodgeman County 17-6.
Tara Bunker added 11 for Macksville.
The Lady Mustangs conclude the regular season with a 4-16 record.
