TMP downs Great Bend soccer in 3-0 shut out

Following a 40-minute lightning delay in the second half, TMP’s Kayla Vitztum connected with Bailey Hageman in the 42nd minute and propelled the Monarchs to a 3-0 victory over the Panthers Monday at Cavanaugh Fields.

The loss to Thomas More drops Great Bend to 2-9-1 on the season while the Monarchs improve to 9-2 overall. The win against the Panthers marks the sixth straight victory for the Monarchs as they have outscored their opponents, 26-0. over those last six contests. It also marks the ninth shutout of the season for Thomas More.

TMP scored twice in the first half and went to the break leading 2-0. The Monarchs outshot the Panthers by a 10-7 margin.  

Great Bend travels to Wichita Southeast today for non conference play beginning at 4 p.m.
