HAYS — Class 3A Hays-Thomas More Prep drilled 13 3-pointers to bury the Class 5A Great Bend Panther girls from long range 84-72 in a non-league basketball game. The Panthers drop to 10-7 heading to Friday’s Western Athletic Conference showdown at Dodge City for the WAC title.
Great Bend’s Carley Brack scored 25 points and Lauren Welsch added 16 points. The Panthers converted 28 of 50 field goals for 56 percent, but the lack of a defensive game cost them a chance at victory. The Panthers were outscored 39-21 on 3-pointers.
