DODGE CITY -- The Barton County Coyotes sixth-grade girls basketball team captured first place in the Dodge City MAYB Tournament Jan. 5. The Coyotes defeated Garden City Gameball 30-13 in the semifinals and the Hays Tribe 23-9 in the championship game. The Coyotes (12-9) have placed in the top three in six tournaments. Team members feature Kara Feist, Mackenzie LaViolette, Myra Kurth, Sophia Skelton, Darcy Feist, Kylie McCormick, Lakyn Carroll, Marilyn Soeken, and DeShawnna Bryant. Coaches are Travis Kurth, Luke McCormick, David Feist and Dan Feist.
