LARNED -- The Larned Lady Indians found out why the Haven Wildcats are the #4-ranked 3A team in the state Tuesday as they fell 50-8  in a Central Kansas League game.
The Lady Wildcats pitched a shutout in the first half as they held the Indians scoreless, racing to a 28-0 halftime advantage. Larned would not score their first points until 5:02 was showing on the clock in the third period. Larned would score two baskets but still trail 47-4 at the end of the third quarter.  Larned got off only 5 field goal attempts in the first half as they piled up 25 turnovers.
“There is no question Haven is an outstanding team. They are skilled, well coached and they play hard," said Coach Ashley Crosby. "Their program is where we want to get to. We want to be like them. I am proud of my girls though. They continue to compete and try to get better.”

Haven (14-2, 5-0 CKL) made 18 of 42 field goals for 43% and were a crisp 10 of 13 from the charity stripe. Oral Roberts University signee Faith Paramore led Haven with 17 points. Carlee Arnold added 13 and Kara Matteson chipped in with 7

Larned struggled from the field and made only 3 of 19 field goal attempts and just 1 of 4 free throws in scoring their fewest points of the season. Jayme Hagerman had 3 points and Kaylee Mead and Julie Tapia 2 each. Larned (0-15, 0-5 CKL) plays Hillsboro Friday for  Winter Royalty.
