DODGE CITY — In the district wrestling tournament that took place on Saturday, March 23, the Great Bend Wrestling Club had 31 athletes place.
By virtue of placing, the local wrestlers qualified for the state tournament that took place in Topeka this weekend, which ends on Sunday.
The eight-and-under bracket had Emmanuel Prieto placing second, Josiah Ball placing fourth, Luke Barker placing second, Kaden Spragis placing third, Wyatt Weber placing fourth, Chayse Gruber placing third and Scott Heilman capturing first.
The 10-and-under bracket had Brantley Baldwin placing fourth, Stephan Baldwin placing second, Drew Liles placing third, John Szot placing fourth, Carsyn Schooler capturing first, George Weber capturing first, Joshua Ball placing fourth and Gage Fritz placing third.
The 12 -and-under bracket had Jonas Meeks placing fourth and Christopher Ball placing second.
The 14-and-under bracket had Caleb Baldwin placing third, Nick Lucas placing second, Eric Vazquez placing third, Keaton Sander capturing first, Bryce Lytle placing second, Dalton Barker placing fourth, Cody Liles capturing first, Johnathan Ball capturing first and Jose Batres capturing first.
The high school bracket had Bradon Ball caputring first, Cody Lytle placing second, Kade Sander placing second, Justin Henry placing second and Gunar Brewer placing second.
