DENVER (AP) — The Denver Broncos’ Elvis Dumervil has been cited with assault and disturbing the peace for an alleged run-in with a security guard at Invesco Field.
Denver court records show the alleged incident happened on Oct. 24, the day the Broncos lost to the Oakland Raiders.
Dumervil’s lawyer, Harvey Steinberg, told The Denver Post the linebacker forgot his credentials and a guard refused to let him into the players’ entrance at the stadium. Steinberg said words were exchanged but said that it was “unbelievable” that Dumervil has ended up in court over the matter, which was first reported by Denver’s KDVR-TV.
Dumervil has already appeared in court once and is set to appear again Jan. 11.
