LAWRENCE — Kansas football is in the midst of its second week of spring practices under new head coach Charlie Weis. The Jayhawks are making the necessary preparations on the field to enjoy a memorable 2012 season.
While the Jayhawk players and coaches are preparing for next year, Kansas fans are doing the same by ordering their 2012 season ticket packages in record numbers. Current season ticket holders are increasing their orders and over 3,000 new season tickets have already been purchased. The new Coach’s Corner package has also sold out for the 2012 season.
The priority deadline to renew season tickets is Friday, April 20. Each Tier 1 and Tier 2 ticket ordered by April 20 will receive six permanent priority points per ticket ordered with no limit on the number of tickets ordered.
Fans will receive six permanent priority points for the first four Tier 3 tickets ordered and one point for every ticket above four.
Points will be added to active Williams Education Fund member accounts prior to football select-a-seat, which is scheduled to begin May 14.
Tier 1 season tickets (sections 4-8, 21-23) are $300. Tier 2 season tickets (sections 3, 9, 24-26) are $250 and Tier 3 season tickets (sections 1, 2, 10) are just $199.
The popular Family Plan package is also available for the 2012 season with a new price of just $350. The plan includes four season tickets—two adult and two youth—in general admission sections 12-16.
The annual Spring Game will be Saturday, April 28.  Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.  Several pregame festivities, including a kids clinic, bicycle helmet fair, family fun zone, hospitality tents for Williams Fund and K Club members, and the dedication of Fambrough Drive and Fambrough Way, are all planned.
The Jayhawks host six home games in Memorial Stadium this fall, including non-conference games against South Dakota State (Sept. 1) and Rice (Sept. 8), and Big 12 games against TCU (Sept. 15), Oklahoma State (Oct. 13), Texas (Oct. 27), and Iowa State (Nov. 17).
