Two videos now available to the public feature teens and adults sharing information about the local #Zero Reasons Why (#ZRW) program.

#ZRW is teen-led campaign that focuses on teen-suicide prevention and mental health. The program encourages conversations among teens, parents, educators and healthcare professionals to reduce the stigma of talking about these issues.

“The videos feature area high school students and #ZRW Teen Council members, as well as representatives of our community partners,” said Julie Kramp, executive director of The Center for Counseling & Consultation. “Each video is only about 90 seconds long and we encourage central Kansans to take a few minutes to watch them.

“They depict some of the most positive and helpful information on Facebook and Instagram today.”

Those interested can visit The Center’s Facebook page and click on zeroreasonswhycentralkansas. On Instagram, it is zeroreasonswhy_centralks.

In addition, anyone can visit The Center’s website and click on the #ZRW page. The address is: thecentergb.org.

The professionals behind the scenes are Yuchen Boswell, videographer, and Jennifer Andersen, social media manager.

“Yuchen and Jennifer should be commended for their amazing work,” Kramp said. “They captured the essence of our #ZRW campaign with the help of teenagers and adults who eagerly participated in sharing information about mental-health issues.

“Participants in the videos reinforce the program’s mission: remove the stigma of talking openly about mental health; build community support; and commit to education.”
