Pawnee Heights jumpers soar to state track

SPEARVILLE – The Pawnee Heights tandem of Alec Carlson and Braden Colglazier continued o dominate the jumping events by qualifying In the high jump, long jump and triple jump at the 1A Spearville track regional.

Carlson won the long jump (21-91/2) and triple jump (44-111/2), placed runner-up in the high jump (6-6) and fourth in the 400 meters (53.13). Carlson’s triple jump is a top 25 effort in Kansas. Colglazier won the high jump (6-6) and placed runner-up in the long jump (21-51/2) and triple jump (42-81/2). Both high jumps rank in the top 25 in Kansas.

The Tiger boys (60 points) finished runner-up behind Meade (95).

St. John’s Preston Dunn won the 300-meter hurdles (40.45) and placed fourth in the 110-meter hurdles (15.85).

Pawnee Heights Tiger Olivia Hands won the discus (114-7). Hodgeman County (78) edged Kiowa County (77) for the girls team title.
