HOISINGTON — Hoisington (8-8) scored 25 runs for a hard-fought 12-8 victory and an easier 13-2 run-rule baseball victory over Ellinwood Monday.
CARDINALS 12, EAGLES 8 (G1) — Hoisington's Tony Moore drove home four runs and delivered a 3-run double to help the Cardinals rally from a 5-0 deficit. Marcus Ingram scored on a Brodie Crites sacrifice fly and Lane French scored on Rhen Galla's bases-loaded walk before Moore cleared the bases.
Ingram, Crites and Kaidenn Chambers each drove in two runs. Ingram (1-0) struck out six batters in 21/3 innings.
Ellinwood (5-11) roared to a 5-0 lead before the Eagles' pitching faltered with six walks and 11 earned runs. Campbell Coleman tripled in two runs. Cooper Gunn, Cooper Hosman and Drake Hosman all doubled. Cohen Gunn, Drake Hosman and Chase Gibson each drove in one run.
CARDINALS 13, EAGLES 2 (G2) — Hoisington used a 9-run fourth inning to bust the game open. Aiden Hekele blasted a 2-run homer, Moore a 2-run triple and Galla a 2-run single in a run-rule victory. Moore scored runs on a wild pitch and error.
Mason Martin tripled home a run and scored on a wild pitch. Ingram and Carson Mason delivered RBIs.
Moore (2-1) worked four innings with seven strikeouts.
Ellinwood's Cooper Gunn singled home Tudor and Cooper Hosman scored on Drake Hosman's bases-loaded walk in a 2-run fourth inning.
