EUFAULA, Okla. — Barbara Ann Burkhart, 73, of Eufaula, passed away on June 26, 2020 at her home. Barbara was born on June 10, 1947 in Hays, Kansas to James L. Sr. and Armella Ann Edwards. She attended Marion High School in Hays Kansas and graduated from Great Bend High School in 1965. Barbara received her Associate Degree from Barton Community College. On November 6, 1965, she married Clifford Burkhart in Hays, Kansas. They were happily married for fifty-four years. She was a Booster Club Mom for football, baseball, basketball, and wrestling. Barbara worked as the director of the Great Bend Daycare Center for twenty-three years. She was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Muskogee and the Texanna Lady Crafters.
Survivors include: her husband, Clifford Burkhart, of the home; sons: Kerry Burkhart and wife, Lisa, of Norman, OK and Korey Burkhart and wife, Alyson, of Great Bend, KS; siblings: James Edwards and wife, Susan, of Tulsa, OK; Dennise Schmidt and husband, Charles, of Charlotte, NC; Dean Edwards and wife, Julie, of Wichita, KS; and Scott Edwards, of Great Bend, KS; eight grandchildren: Mackenzie Burkhart, Tory Wilcox, Peyton Burkhart, Bryce Burkhart, Tristen Burkhart, Brooklyn Burkhart, Alexandria Burkhart, and Beau Burkhart; and one great-grandchild, Mason Lawson. She is preceded in death by her parents, James Sr. and Armella Edwards; one daughter, Kimberly Dawn Burkhart; and one son, Christopher Burkhart.
A Rosary will be held at 6 p.m., Thursday, July 2, 2020 at the Kelley Memorial Chapel. A Memorial Mass will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, July 3, 2020 at the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Muskogee, Oklahoma.
