JETMORE – Dorothy “Dee” D. White, 85, passed away November 4, 2021 at her home in Jetmore.
She was born June 29, 1936 in Englewood, KS, the daughter of Frederic Solomon and Mary Henrietta Klotz Ward. A lifetime area resident, she was retired from Venture Corporation after many years.
She was of the Christian faith and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and Gold Wing Riders Association.
On April 3, 1954 she married Harley “Gene” White in Granby, MO. He passed away on January 2, 1999.
Survivors include: three sons, David (Audrey) White, South Haven, KS, Rick (Nancy) White, Bakersfield, CA, Ron (Ronda) White, Jetmore, KS; daughter, Dorothy “Dot” (William) Fernandez, Lawrence, KS; fourteen grandchildren and twenty-seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Miran “Sonny” Ward; six sisters, Katy Jones, Ellen Sherrill, Vona Bedell, Freda Lynn, Lois Jackson and Lucy Green.
Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, November 9, 2021 at United Presbyterian Church, Jetmore, with Rev. Mark Durham presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at Beckwith Funeral Home, Jetmore. Burial will be in the Fairmount Cemetery, Jetmore.
Memorials may be given to Dorothy “Dee” White Memorial Fund (to benefit the community of Hodgeman County) in care of Beckwith Funeral Home, Box 663 Jetmore, KS 67854.
