Josephine “Jo” Volosin, 84, died Dec. 23, 2015, at Founders Crest, Wichita, Kan. Born Dec. 24, 1930 at Denver, Colo., she was the daughter of Michael and Caroline (Boytz) Horvat.
She married John Howard Volosin Aug. 18, 1951 at Denver, Colo. He died June 26, 1978. She was owner of Aspen Drilling Company. Mrs. Volosin was a Great Bend resident since 1957. She was a member of Prince of Peace Parish at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Altar Society, Pilot Club International, Birthright Volunteer and a former member of Catholic Social Service.
Survivors include her son: John A. Volosin and wife Angela of Wichita, Kan.; her daughter: Jean Volosin of Maize, Kan.; her sister: Mary Horvat of Denver, Colo.; four Grandchildren: Doug and wife Ashley Klepper, Lisa Klepper, Tyler Moore, Brandon Moore; three great-grandchildren: Allison Klepper, Brady Klepper, Adeline Deveaux; and 28 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by six brothers and five sisters.
An Altar Society Rosary will be 4 p.m., and Vigil Service will be at 7 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2015 at Bryant Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 31, 2015 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Great Bend, with Father Ted Stoecklein celebrating. Burial will be in Great Bend Cemetery. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials are requested to Holy Family School Endowment or Birthright of Great Bend, in care of the funeral home.
