ELLINWOOD — June Hammer Klepper, 94, died at Woodhaven in Ellinwood on Friday. She was born Dec. 30, 1916 in Seward, the daughter of Patrick L. Keenan and Mary Hall.

She was a long-time Ellinwood resident and housewife. Mrs. Klepper was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Daughters of Isabella and Alter Society and Christmas Cookie Club all in Ellinwood; and Dartmouth Women’s Club, card club and Barton County Democratic Women.

She married Carl F. Hammer on Aug. 19, 1936. He died Dec. 23, 1965. She then married Norman Klepper on Nov. 27, 1981.

Survivors include Norman of the home; sons, Lawrence and wife Connie Hammer of San Antonio, Texas, Robert and wife Helen Hammer of Loveland, Colo., Denis and wife Lois Hammer of Ellinwood; daughters, Patricia Carlene McKibben of North Muskegon, Mich, Erna Michelle Hammer of Cleveland, Ohio; stepsons, Larry and wife Jean Klepper of Ellinwood, Richard and Connie Klepper of Ellinwood; stepdaughters, Joyce and husband Jerry Ware of Wichita, Marlene and husband David Panning of Great Bend, and Diane and husband Edward Nemnich of Ellinwood; brothers, Larry Keenan and Pat Keenan, both of Great Bend; sister Gloria Ball of Seattle, Wash.; half-brothers, Dennis and wife Eileen Keenan of Great Bend, and Terry and wife Gloria Keenan of Ness City; stepbrother, David and wife Cecile Folkerts of Great Bend; stepsisters Evelyn Mazurriewicz of Los Alamos, N.M., Georgiann Bauer of Pawnee Rock and Glenna Rose and husband Alvin Row of Overland Park; sister-in-law Ada and husband Bill Koop of Ellinwood; six step-grandchildren; nine grandchildren; eight stepgreat-grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by brothers, Paul, Russell, Ora and Robert Keenan; sisters, Louise Dale and Sylvia Chadd-Langer; and stepbrother Don Folkerts.

The service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ellinwood with Father Charles Mazouch officiating. The calling time will be from 1-6 p.m. Monday at Kimple Funeral Home. The Alter Society Rosary will be at 3 p.m. Monday at Kimple. Vigil will be at 7 p.m. on Monday at the church. Burial will be at Lakin-Comanche District Cemetery in Ellinwood. Memorials can be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church in care of the funeral home.
