COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Marilyn Margaret Link Muth, 88, passed away Nov. 14, 2014, surrounded by family.
Marilyn was born on Nov. 17, 1925 in Lyons, the daughter of Paul John Link and Marie Antoinette Deutsch Link. She was the oldest of nine children — four boys and five girls. She married Frederick E. Muth June 17, 1944 in Lyons. They had three sons, Bob, Mark, and Nick.
Marilyn loved her family, especially her sons and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She spent many hours making the most fabulous cakes, pies and cookies from scratch. She was famous for her angel food cake that she prepared with lots of love. She made sure that all the boys and grandchildren’s birthdays were celebrated with her delicious cakes and pies.
Marilyn knew and loved the Lord. She was very patriotic and loved her country. She also loved animals and there was not one stray animal that she didn’t take care of.
Survivors include her siblings, Jo Ann Taylor, Drums, Pa.; Carolyn Schoenhofer, Lyons; Kathleen Link, Lyons; John N. Link, Chehalis, Wash; and Arnold Link, Chehalis, Wash.; three sons, Bob (Sally); Mark (Benna); and Nick; five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and a great-great grandchild.
Preceding her in death is her husband, Frederick E. Muth; her parents, Paul and Marie Link; a sister, Mary Sue Ackerman; and her brothers, Maurice Link and James S. Link.
Graveside service is scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 20 at the Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver, Colo., where she will be laid to rest beside her husband Fred.
