HOISINGTON — Marion Jean Hicks, 49, died March 18 at Clara Barton Hospital in Hoisington. She was born Jan. 31, 1962, in Newport, R.I., the daughter of Eugene and Marion (Hendry) Benavidez. She married Gordon Hicks on April 15, 2004, at Hoisington. She was a homemaker and had been a Hoisington resident since 2001, coming from Alva, Okla.

Survivors include her husband, of the home; her parents; two sons, Josh Bluemel and Jeromy Bluemel, both of Brigham City, Vt.; one daughter, Anita Brown of Alva, Okla.; two sisters, Teresa Evans of Clinton, Vt., and Tina Brock of Garland, N.C.; and five grandchildren.

Memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home, Hoisington, with the Rev. Dick Ogle officiating. Visitation will be from 1-8 p.m. Tuesday and 9 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Barton County Humane Society in care of the funeral home.
