WICHITA — Robert W. “Bob” Bridges, 94, died  Oct. 28 at  Kansas Masonic Home, Wichita. He was born Nov. 28, 1919 at Turley, Okla. the son of Emery and Grace (Roberts) Bridges.
He married Bernadine Helen Straub May 4, 1942 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ellinwood.  She died Aug. 8, 2000. He worked for Skelly Oil and Getty Oil Company as a field gauger. Mr. Bridges was a Wichita resident since 2004, coming from Great Bend. He served in the National Guard.  
He was a member of Prince of Peace Parish at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Council 862, and Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 646, all of Great Bend.
He is survived by two sons: James Robert “J. R.” Bridges and his wife Jeanne of Oktaha, Okla., and Richard Leroy Bridges and his wife Mary of Garden City; two daughters: Betty Jean Carroll and her husband Jim of Great Bend, and Mary Frances Spade and her husband Ken of Wichita; 23 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one infant brother, Richard Bridges, and two sisters, Frances Bennett and Imogene Westwood.
Vigil Service with Knights of Columbus Rosary will be at 7 p.m., Thursday at Bryant Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Great Bend. Father Ted Stoecklein will be celebrant. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park, Great Bend. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Thursday at Bryant Funeral Home. Memorials are requested to Sunflower Diversified Services or Kansas Masonic Home, in care of Bryant Funeral Home. Condolences may be sent and notice viewed at www.bryantfh.net.
