Rolla Gaylen Renfro 1937 - 2011

LARNED — Rolla Gaylen Renfro, 73, died May 4 at the Pawnee Valley Community Hospital in Larned. Born Oct. 14, 1937, at Great Bend, he was the son of Rolla G. and Viola B. (Elmore) Renfro. A Larned resident most of his life, he was a guard at the Larned Correctional Metal Health Facility, retiring in 2005.

Mr. Renfro was a U.S. Army Reserve veteran. He was a member of the American Legion in Larned, and was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include a sister, Marlene Carr and husband Larry of Larned; a nephew, Kirk A. Carr of Larned; a niece, Tammy Froetschner and husband Jim of Larned; great-nephews Shane Carr of Silverthorne, Colo., and Chris Froetschner of Larned; a great-niece, Jami Battin and husband Chris and their son Eli, all of Great Bend; and a host of cousins and friends.

Memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Beckwith Mortuary Chapel in Larned, with Pastor Dan Lundgren presiding. Friends may sign the register from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and 1-8 p.m. Sunday at the mortuary. Inurnment will be at the Larned Cemetery.
