The new advanced registered nurse practitioner at St. Joseph Family Medicine (SJFM) is now available to see patients of all ages. Linsey Carter recently moved to Great Bend to share the SJFM practice with Cherie Morris, M.D. in family medicine with obstetrics, and Charise Oelger, physician assistant.

St. Rose Ambulatory & Surgery Center owns SJFM, located at 3520 Lakin.

"I can care for and treat everyone from infants to the elderly," Carter said. "My educational background covered all aspects of family medicine, including pre-natal care.

"I am excited for this opportunity to care for patients at St. Joseph," she added. "Dr. Morris and Charise are true professionals and I know we will make a great team."

Carter earned her master’s degree in nursing in July at Fort Hays State University after graduating from FHSU in 2006 with a bachelor’s in nursing. She received her associate’s degree in science in 2003 at Seward County Community College in Liberal.

Her clinical site experience included working in a number of specialty areas such as OB-GYN, pediatrics, cardiology, dermatology, orthopedics, emergency care, urology, and ear, nose and throat.

Prior to her move to SJFM, Carter was a registered nurse at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal where she specialized in caring for mothers and babies.

Carter is originally from Liberal and grew up in Plains. She and her husband, Justin, have one daughter.
