Charlotte A. Simpkins, 93, passed away on Oct. 15th, 2024 at Azria Health Woodhaven in Great Bend, Kan. Charlotte was born to George Dewey and Anna Mae Cheatwood Davis on Jan. 8, 1931 in Boise, Idaho.
A long time Barton County resident since 1990, Charlotte had formerly lived in Azusa, Calif. and Littleton, Colo. While in Littleton she spent time as an artist using mediums of both oil and watercolor. Charlotte married husband Gary in 1948 in Covena, Calif. He passed away in 1988.
Survivors include brothers Paul Davis, Great Bend, Kan., Allen Davis, Phoenix, Ariz., George (Milda) Davis, Denver, Colo.; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Greg Simpkins; daughter, Linda Simpkins; sisters, Shirley Leak and Louise Hicks; and sister-in-law Karen Davis.
Entombment will take place at Great Bend City Cemetery Mausoleum on Monday, Oct. 21st at 1 p.m. Visitation will take place Sunday, Oct. 20th from 1-8 p.m. with family receiving friends from 6-8 p.m. at Minnis Chapel in Ellinwood. Memorials are suggested to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or Faith Community Church in care of Minnis Chapel, PO Box 246, Ellinwood, KS 67526.
