Clara Barton Medical Center welcomes Kortney Traylor, OTR/L, as the newest member to join its team of skilled therapy professionals.
As an organization, Director of Therapy Services Natalie Bieberle said Clara Barton looks forward to the positive impact she will undoubtedly have on the community as she brings not only a wealth of experience but also an unwavering passion to her role as an Occupational Therapist.
Traylor is originally from Great Bend, where she graduated from Great Bend High School in 2008. Her commitment to both academics and athletics led her to Barton Community College, where she played softball from 2008 to 2010. Then transferring to the University of Kansas Medical Center, she earned her Masters of Occupational Therapy in 2014.
What sets Traylor apart is the deeply personal connection she has to her profession. Her motivation to become an Occupational Therapist was inspired by a close family member’s diagnosis of a rare neurological disorder when she was younger. Witnessing the impact of this condition on her family firsthand ignited her passion for helping individuals regain their independence and quality of life through therapy.
Before joining the Clara Barton Medical Center team, Traylor dedicated nearly a decade of her life to her role at Pawnee Valley Community Hospital, where she worked from 2014 to 2023.
In addition to her professional achievements, Traylor enjoys spending time with her family. She married her husband, Chris, in 2014, a dedicated lineman at Midwest Energy. Together they share one daughter, Emma, who just turned seven.
Outside of work, Traylor enjoys a diverse range of hobbies, including reading, playing sports, serving at church, and cheering for the Yankees and Jayhawks.
Traylor is committed to helping individuals achieve their goals and finds the relationships she forms with her patients to be exceptionally rewarding. Her advice for patients is to trust their therapist and let pain be their guide.
“The addition of Kortney is very exciting for Clara Barton Therapy Services,” Bieberle said. “She brings an abundant amount of experience and knowledge to serve patients of all ages and improve their quality of life. Her positive attitude and strong work ethic fit right into our dedicated team of professionals. I am excited to see Clara Barton Therapy Services continue to grow for the betterment of our community and surrounding area.”
