Free Stop 'N Learn program explores 'The Deer of Kansas'

The Great Bend Recreation Commission will host a free Stop ‘N Learn Session titled "The Deer Of Kansas," today and Friday. Educator Eric Giesing with the Kansas Wetlands Education Center/Fort Hays State University will be the presenter.

The public is invited to attend from noon to 1 p.m. today at the new GBRC Activity Center, 2715 18th St., or at 1 p.m. Friday at the Great Bend Senior Center, 2005 Kansas Ave.

In this program, the public can learn about some of the myths and truth about Kansas deer. Discussion will include information about the deer rut and other behaviors, and tips on how to avoid deer on the roadways.
