Motorcyclist injured in collision

Darl Strodtman suffered fractured ribs, scrapes and bruises when the motorcycle he was driving collided with a car driven by Patricia Ware at 2:43 p.m. Sunday in the 3900 block of 10th St. According to the Great Bend Police Department, Strodtman was westbound in the inside lane and Ware was westbound in the turning lane when Strodtman merged into the turn lane and the motorcycle hit the car.
Strodtman was taken to Great Bend Regional Hospital, where he was treated and released.
Another injury accident was reported at 5:12 p.m. Sunday in the 3500 block of 10th St. A vehicle driven by Richard Fletcher Jr. was merging onto 10th and collided with a vehicle driven by Tomas Tijerina, who was merging onto 10th from Wendy’s.

Man sleeps in wrong car after his is impounded

A fight outside 3001 Morton St. was reported to the Great Bend Police Department at 3:30 a.m. Saturday, and a window was broken at that address. Police impounded an illegally parked car that was abandoned. At 4:45 a.m., a woman reported a man was sleeping in her vehicle in the 2700 block of Washington Ave. The owner of the impounded car was reportedly drunk and confused about where he was. He was informed about the location of his car.

Jaw reportedly broken at bar

On Saturday afternoon, Great Bend Police were notified that a 29-year-old male had been hit at Maggie’s bar, 1318 Kansas Ave., around 1 a.m. and that he was in the Hays hospital with a broken jaw. An aggravated battery case was taken.
