Barton County Sheriff

An aggravated assault at a Chisholm Trail residence was reported at 11:58 a.m. Saturday. Shots were reportedly fired into the air during a domestic dispute.

An individual reported Saturday that an unknown person had, for the second time, criminally damaged her husband’s grave site at Hillcrest Cemetery by attempting to dig up the urn.

 

Great Bend Police

Two door knobs in the 2700 block of Broadway Ave. were turned in as "found property" on Saturday afternoon.

Vehicles driven by Gary Sechrist and Elwin Conrad collided while backing in the Walmart Supercenter parking lot at 4:59 p.m. Saturday.

Chad Hallmark was driving south on Roosevelt St. at 9:48 p.m. Saturday and struck a vehicle driven by Willie Reed that was westbound on Forest, and police were called to the scene by an unknown person reporting a fight in progress at the intersection.

An Outside Agency Assist from the Rice County Sheriff’s Office was requested at 5:14 a.m. Sunday. Officers were asked to do a blood draw at Great Bend Regional Hospital from an individual involved in an injury accident in Rice County.

 

Great Bend Fire Department

Firefighters made seven ambulance runs on Friday, six Saturday and six Sunday.

They were called to 514 Cleveland St. in Great Bend at 11:15 a.m. Sunday to check on a possible gas smell.
